The Kapiti Food Fair takes place on 5 December 2009
from 10am to 3pm
at Whitireia Community Polytechnic's Kapiti Campus,
Lindale Exit, Off State Highway One, North of Paraparaumu
Kapiti Food Fair 2009 is organised by PartyPerfect,
a Kapiti based catering and events management company.
- These chefs came from diverse ethnic backgrounds, and found that they each could contribute a richness of cultural culinary knowledge to their learning experience. From this grew the concept of a Kapiti Food festival or fair, celebrating the cultural food diversity and the wealth of produce found in Kapiti.
- Celebrity Chef Martin Bosley, a long-time Waikanae resident and supporter, has again added his weight to the project, and will be spearheading our Fabulous Feast.
- The event is supported by Kapiti Coast District Council, Whitirea Polytechnic Kapiti and local Kapiti businesses. It showcases the products and talents of the chefs and food producers of the Kapiti area. It also gives trainee chefs at Whitirea the opportunity to flex their culinary muscle.
- This year the Fabulous Feast is in memory of Frank van Kampen, Waikanae School Teacher, who tragically lost his life in September. We intend to make the PartyPerfect Fabulous Feast an annual event, with proceeds going to worthy local Kapiti causes.
- This year we also offer a beer-lover's extravaganza. The BeerBoys bring you Beer journalist/writer Neil Miller, who will be hosting a workshop for beer lovers, discussing some of the best of New Zealand's boutique beers, including the prize-winning local Tuatara Brewery.
- The Kapiti Food Fair 2009 will take place from 10am to 3pm on Saturday 5 December 2009, at the Kapiti Campus of Whitireia Community Polytechnic on State Highway One north of Paraparaumu township.
