The Fabulous Feast
2009 sees the First Fabulous Feast
The concept of a Fabulous Feast, prepared by not one, but by several prominent local chefs from Kapiti, came to us when we were discussing options for the day with Martin Bosley.
The conversation quickly became enthused, as the idea of inviting Kapiti chefs to each create and prepare a signature dish for the event, set our collective tastebuds buzzing. Who in the community would not consider sitting down to a four-course lunch prepared by not one, but four notable chefs from the area ?
Kapiti chefs Ian Kerry (Drift), Aaron Wagstaff (Long Beach) and Jeanine van Kradenburg (PartyPerfect) have risen to Martin's challenge to display their culinary skills for a charitable cause. Ambrosia Patisserie will create artisan breads to accompany the meal. Soprano Restaurant's Annemarie has provided Limoncello Lemon Liqueur to round off the meal.
The organisers approached local businesses, who were overwhelming in their support for this chaitable event:
New World Waikanae has agreed to provide all the ingredients the chefs will require for the Feast. Richmond Lee, the owner/operator has proved that New World Waikanae lives up to the motto of being locally owned, committed and involved.
White wines for the event have been provided by Ohau Gravels, Kapiti's Award-Winning New Winery, Red wines by Canvas Wines.
- Artisan breads will be created to match the menu by Ambrosia Patisserie (Waikanae).
- The Kapiti Floral Art Club's talented members will be creating beautiful floral designs especially for the occasion.
- Kapiti Hire have provided all the table linen needed for the lunch.
- The Radio Network are assisting with promotion of the Fabulous Feast.
- Annemarie from Soprano Restaurant (Paraparaumu) will provide Limoncello Lemon Liqueur to round off the festivities.
This year's event is in memory of the late

2009 sees the return of the infamous BeerBoys, who manned the Imbibe beer and wine stall in 2008. They were responsible for the introduction of Namibian Beers and South African Ciders to The Kapiti Food fair visitors last year. This year they are back, not only with more Southern African products, but also with the award winning Tuatara Beers, and other boutique beers from around New Zealand, and a plethora of other International Premium International Beers. They are joined by Beer Writer, Neil Miller, and Wine Writer John Saker, who will host a Beer and Wine appreciation and tasting workshops, presenting some the best boutique beers and wines available in New Zealand.
Tickets for this event is limited, and sales are open now. Tickets include the price of 5 beers or wines, snacks and the talk by Neil Miller or John Saker.
